Q&A

  • Is your facility legally certified? How can I identify a legitimate venue?

That’s a great question! Huadon Airfield is indeed a "legal top performer." It received official approval from the Civil Aviation Administration, MOTC R.O.C. back in 2008.

Our takeoff and landing site name, location map, and operating unit information are clearly listed on the Civil Aviation Administration's official website.

  • Are there any age or other restrictions for the flying experience?

If you’d like to sign up for a flight experience, please contact us directly to make a reservation, and we’ll help you embark on your flying journey!

However, there are a few requirements to keep in mind:

    • Participants must be at least 15 years old, weigh under 95 kg, and not exceed a height of 185 cm.
    • Pregnant individuals and those with acrophobia should stay on the ground for safety.
    • For a more comfortable flying experience, it is recommended to wear long pants and athletic shoes.
  • Is pilot training offered here? How long does it take, and will a certificate be issued upon completion?

The "Hualien Ultralight Sports Association - Huadon Airfield" provides light aircraft flight training and assists you in fulfilling the certification requirements set by the Civil Aviation Administration.

However, it's important to clarify that the certificate we issue is the "Ultralight Vehicle Operation Certificate" certified by the Civil Aviation Administration, which is different from the "Private Pilot License" commonly referred to in the aviation industry.

If you are interested in learning to fly, you can refer to the "Ultralight Vehicle Management Regulations" or contact us for more information.

  • What types of aircraft are available at your facility?

Our aircraft each have their own unique features and can cater to various flight needs! According to the Civil Aviation Law, the following types of aircraft are available:
